Split-second cameo in royal video reveals special bond

As the world dissects the three-minute long video announcing the end of the Princess of Wales’ chemotherapy treatment, there are a few takeaways.
Prince William and his wife Catherine are closer than they have ever been; they are hands-on loving parents who dote on their three children; and they rely on two people even more than the world realised.
Catherine’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, made a surprise appearance in the video, but while it was short, it points to just how close they are to the royal couple.

The video, released overnight in Australia, offers a new insight into William and Catherine’s life away from the spotlight and features many scenes of them in nature, at the beach and at their country home.
But it was the inclusion of a small snippet inside their home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, that reinforces the close bond the couple shares with Catherine’s parents.
The scene, which begins one minute and 13 seconds into the video and lasts for just four seconds, shows Michael and Carole seated at a dining table playing a spirited game of cards with their daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren, George, Charlotte and Louis.

The scene’s inclusion is a deliberate show of thanks to the Middletons for their steadfast support of not just their daughter but her husband and children during what was undoubtedly one of the biggest hurdles they have ever faced.
It is not the first time the Middletons closeness to the Wales family has been reported.
In fact, royal expert Katie Nicholl recently talked about just how much Catherine’s parents and sister Pippa had helped out during her cancer battle.
During a recent episode of her podcast, Dynasty: The Royal Family’s Most Challenging Year, Nicholl said, “Certainly, in recent months, when Kate has really drawn on the support of her family and she’s needed her sister to take the kids out, to help William, she’s needed her mum there to cook and for Michael to take them off to the beach or whatever it might be that they’re doing, and she has the most incredible support network in the Middleton family.
“They’ve been an anchor for her, more so now than ever before.”
Nicoll also shed new light on William’s relationship with Michael Middleton, describing the 75-year-old as a “really wonderful father-in-law to William.”
“I know they have a close relationship, [and] that William will often turn to Michael for advice,” she said.
“I know he has a great sense of humour. I think he’s someone who is a cool head in a crisis.”
